Practical tips to help you reach your health goals

Colours of our walls, plates, settings and lighting can influence on how much we eat, and even what we eat.

It's not the colour of plate itself that causes people to eat less, but it's influenced by the colour of the food you eat.The more contrast between the food and the plate it's served on cause people to eat less. High contrast between food colour and plates creates better awareness of the food portion. . Fast eaters tend to be more overweight than slow eaters ; using more calming colour plates like pink or light grey can slow down eating speed thus helping weight loss. People tend to eat more carbs if the colour of the carb matches the plates colour (ex rice on a white plate ). Serving white carbohydrates (rice, pasta) on a dark plate or serving vanilla ice-cream in a dark-coloured bowl, or chocolate ice-cream in a white bowl may help controlling carbs intake.
